The good thing is that although we are not doing a very good job of documenting it, we ARE doing a good job of CRUSHING IT!
We have spent the last few months doing a lot of really awesome stuff towards improving our lives, and striving towards financial independence as always. However, in the process we seem to have gone through the entire summer feeling as though all we have done is work.
It’s clear at this point that barring any major changes in our income or expenses that we will be able to achieve our investment goals in 34 more months as long as we take things month by month and do everything possible to hit the high bars we have set for ourselves.
The old saying of “It’s not what you know, but who you know” doesn’t just apply to employment… It certainly applies to optimizing your travel experience...Make those connections in your travels and you will not only optimize the EXPERIENCE of your journey, but the FINANCES of them.
So, let’s face it… money does buy happiness. But to what extent? Sometimes when we learn to simplify our lives and remove ourselves from the daily grind of outspending our neighbor, we not only find happiness but freedom!
...We failed. Well, to be fair, we started drinking and hanging out on sailboats on the Mediterranean, and that didn’t feel much like failure.
